Cruz and the rest of the Tea Party were a reaction to progressives.
Trump is the celebrity leader of a cult of personality without a consistent or clear policy agenda. The support for him is a manifestation of the human instinct to pick someone for their leader who they feel is stronger and superior to them and to make themselves submissive and obedient to his will. The U.S.A. was created to get away from that kind of despotic leadership. Our politicians are supposed to be servants to us. Trump’s entire candidacy is appealing to the kind of dangerous instincts that could make our Constitution obsolete and lead to a military dictatorship.
I see your point, but disagree.
Cruz, the Tea Party and Trump are all variations of the same backlash. Trump is just more primal in nature.
People are fed up with the bullying and domination tactics of the Social Justice Warrior Progressive Left. And with it’s enablers in the GOPe.
It’s not a lot different than reaction to a highschool bully. Cruz is the one who attacks and undermines the bully through intelligence and ridicule. Trump is the one who slams the bully’s head into the locker, repeatedly.
BOTH types of reaction are incredibly appealing to those victimized by the bully.. But the physical thrashing is more satisfying and more likely to generate a large and loyal following.
What a load of psycho babble you wrote.
You apparently are choosing to ignore what people have stated clearly on this board. If being so stuck on Cruz disallows you from ‘hearing’ what anyone else has to say, it suggests that perhaps you are projecting some strange ideas onto others who support Trump.
Believe me (or not, it really doesn’t matter) I do not need nor want Trump to use his ‘strength’ to make me feel submissive - that is some weird freaky stuff you’re throwing around.
