I am sufficiently gruntled with Trump or Cruz.

I see your point, but disagree.

Cruz, the Tea Party and Trump are all variations of the same backlash. Trump is just more primal in nature.

People are fed up with the bullying and domination tactics of the Social Justice Warrior Progressive Left. And with it’s enablers in the GOPe.

It’s not a lot different than reaction to a highschool bully. Cruz is the one who attacks and undermines the bully through intelligence and ridicule. Trump is the one who slams the bully’s head into the locker, repeatedly.

BOTH types of reaction are incredibly appealing to those victimized by the bully.. But the physical thrashing is more satisfying and more likely to generate a large and loyal following.

And our current president has referred to me and others by the obscene taunt “Teabagger” and thinks he’s so smart that he can belittle those who “cling” to their first and second amendment rights.

And if I could believe Trump were sincere in that I might like it too. But when in recent years he donated to these same Democrats, supported Obama’s stimulus and bank bailouts, called Hillary his friend and a great Senator, his daughter is Chelsea’s BFF, etc. I don’t need any more red flags to warn me to stay away. It’s clear Trump doesn’t believe in small-government conservative ideology. I know anyone who goes to D.C. needs to have bedrock values and ideology, otherwise the overwhelming left-wing tide of advisors, bureaucrats and politicians will inevitably sway them to the left if they weren’t already leaning there.

Trump will be the next president. I don’t see any other outcome. He will put an END to the political correctness of the “educated” elites and restore the Constitution, which progressives abandoned 100 years ago. People will be shocked at what he does, but true Americans will love him for it.

We should be compassionate, though, and not charge the illegals, muzzies and leftist traitors for their passage out of the country. If they agree to never come back, I’d gladly pay for the air, bus and train fare.

Trump exposes the fake conservatives every time they come out and support Trump over Cruz.

You are being used. I'm as conservative as they come and I would be happy with a Trump presidency. In fact, I would be ecstatic. But it is not because I believe Trump is conservative in all things, but because I believe Trump would take us in the direction of my conservative goals better than anyone else who is running as they are all establishment candidates. I want Trump to break the system and build the wall.

I say you are being used because you have been trained to associate the word "conservative" with a particular image and set of behaviors, and then your tribal instincts compel you to support only those who pander to those specific things. So, a candidate merely has to rattle off some key words, pay lip service to some traditional positions, et voila, he is your guy. Whether that candidate then governs as a conservative later is another question (anyone remember George W Bush?). Because you are beholden to such a precisely defined image of "conservative", you can be manipulated by anyone who panders to that image. That person then goes on to do the same ol, same ol, but you feel satisfied that you supported the correct candidate.

One of the fascinating things about Trump is that he doesn't seem to give a damn about pandering to the Right despite the fact that he is running as a Republican. He isn't pandering to anyone. He doesn't appear to be playing the game at all, at least not by the establishment's rules. As president, Trump may do some liberal things. I recognize this. But EVERY president has done that in my lifetime, INCLUDING REAGAN. We will never get a pure conservative who can govern purely. Trump will also most likely do things that are wildly conservative, like buck the left-wing anti-American race lobby and build a wall and stop the in-flow of muslims. THIS IS SOMETHING NO OTHER CANDIDATE WOULD EVER DO, regardless of that candidate's pandering to the right. I guarantee Cruz would not do this, except as a token effort.

There you have it.

I seriously wonder what libs would think of Trump if he were exactly the same only had a (D) after his name.

Building a wall to control immigration?

Strong pro-Second Amendment?

Pro-Life?

Strong military?

What do you think Liberals would say?

JediJones,
Where did you get your PhD in psychology? “The support for him (Trump) is a manifestation of the human instinct to pick someone for their leader who they feel is stronger and superior to them and to make themselves submissive and obedient to his will.” You neglected to point out that Trump supporters are uneducated and easily manipulated. This is pretty standard left wing psychobabble. You are frightened at the “thought of nominating a sure loser Trump and ensuring a Democrat victory.” This terrifies you. Tell me, were you breastfed? Trump will be running against a Bolshevik or a woman facing indictment. He may lose. If he does under those circumstances we are finished anyway.
I am one of those rare Trump supporters with an education. Believe it or not, I still have most of my teeth and I have not married my cousin. I support Trump because he scares the hell out of arrogant, know-it-all frauds like Ezra Klein. Our nation is now a laughing stock throughout the world. This administration has totally destabilized the Middle East. Our economy is in a shambles and only appears to be doing well because of over 10 trillion dollars of deficit spending.

But, but, but, I thought Trump was a lib? Lots of people here say so. Why would the libtards be afraid of one of their own?

Rush hardly mentioned Rubio’s name today at all, except as a, still, candidate.

The only thing that Trump is a danger to is the progressive vision for America

Laughing heartily here.

If these libs want to feel better, all they need to do is hold their breath for about 6.5 minutes. They will feel better and so will the rest of us.

The author, the one, the only Journ-O-List smear-master, bon vivant, alleged man-about-town, a paean of liberal moral rectitude and the scourge, in his own mind, of conservatives everywhere. I won't be happy until he's unhappy.

What a load of psycho babble you wrote.

You apparently are choosing to ignore what people have stated clearly on this board. If being so stuck on Cruz disallows you from ‘hearing’ what anyone else has to say, it suggests that perhaps you are projecting some strange ideas onto others who support Trump.

Believe me (or not, it really doesn’t matter) I do not need nor want Trump to use his ‘strength’ to make me feel submissive - that is some weird freaky stuff you’re throwing around.
