New Hampshire is as insignificant as Iowa for predicting the winner of the Republican Primaries, but good for "culling the hurd".

South Carolina on the other hand, will be the first truly meaningful contest.

Surely you jest. So. Carolina is known for dirty tricks, establishment fixes, stabs in the back and cross over voting from Dems and Indes. That’s why most of the Repub candidates in recent years are already decided before the majority of the country gets to vote on them.

Trump coming in 1st and 2nd in the first two contests is not insignificant. Every Republican candidate who finished first and second in Iowa and New Hampshire has won the presidential nomination. Having done so, Trump is now in a class with Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bob Dole, George W. Bush, and Mitt Romney.
