To make it worse, Convention Rule 40 B says the Candidate must have a majority of delegates in at least eight states. The Romney people passed this rule in 2012 when they had control of the party. It hurts Donald Trump.

Roger Stone=VERY smart man who has seen it all, and been there while it happened. Knows where the skeletons are buried. And a brilliant, fearless writer, to boot.

“To make it worse, Convention Rule 40 B says the Candidate must have a majority of delegates in at least eight states.”

I think that is do-able.

It is delegate count, not vote count.

So in a winner take all state, he can win with 30% and get all, which is more than 50%

But I agree the RNC may try something.

His next most likely opponent is Cruz. Makes things interesting.

With every one else in the teens or single digits, they’re not going to amass enough delegates to stop Trump.

I don’t see that happening by March.

****can Trump win the majority in eight states? Just winning via plurality is not good enough. Trump can win a enough delegates to supposedly prevail at the convention but the convention will still be thrown open where Trump delegates desert him after the first vote which is the only round they must vote for Trump. How loyal are Trump delegates?

The entire Republican Party, nationally and at state level, countless lawyers and dirty tricksters, every Republican in Washington—all feverishly working on this scheme. The delegates will flip due to a) blackmail or b) bribes.

If you don’t have the required delegates, it’s “brokered.” That doesn’t mean it’s stolen with “backroom” deals.

Silly premise to the article.

Go ahead. Do it. He wins all of this, and then they pull a wormy trick like this? That might be fun because it will finally be the official end of the GOP.

Yes, that hurts Trump IF he doesn't win enough delegates. I believe that he will, however, outright win the minimum 8 states.

If Trump meets all of the requirements, I don't see how they can stop him and have a brokered convention. If he doesn't meet all of them, yes, the damned RNC will have a brokered convention and pick some miserable POS, who will, of course, lose.

Should this happen, this nation is OVER, for good and all and so is the stupid GOP!

Trump has HUUUGGGE negatives.

If he can’t get a majority of the vote, he’s a loser, as the majority will be “anyone but Trump”.

His supporters increase the opposition every day.

The left & GOPe globalists want a brokered convention to install their candidate. They don’t want the peoples choice. They still think that we will vote for their candidate in a race against a communist. My vote will be for Trump and only Trump. GOPe can stick it if they shove a Rino down my throat. Better to weaponize my vote and commit hari kari than let them get away with this any longer. There is no more holding of the nose, or settling.

if trump is as smart as he says he is, he’ll be prepared before the convention to go indie. that’s the best insurance/leverage he can have against the coming steal by the gopes.

3rd party route is a possibility, according to this:

“Though any Trump bid could face obstacles erected by state elections officials, they are surmountable, according to experts.

Trump could compete in Republican primaries through late March - when two-thirds of states will have voted and two-thirds of delegates will have been awarded — before deciding to mount an independent run and still make the ballot in every or nearly every state if he is willing to pay the seven-figure price, according to Richard Winger, the editor of Ballot Access News. Ralph Nader’s ballot access attorney, Oliver Hall, and Bill Redpath of the Libertarian National Committee concurred with that assessment.”

If they do, couldn’t happen to a more deserving guy.

But they won’t. They are seeing that with Trump they’ll continue lobbyist deals and all the other BS so why should
they care if he wins. He is establishment only worse.

The deck is stacked...the cards are marked.

To me the main question is does the RNC want to get the wrath of the American people and I suspect they would rather take their chances with the rath before they’d let Trump be POTUS and basically destroy their gravy trains.

This is why I have touted Trump-Cruz, to get beyond the numbers needed for a brokered convention ploy to be hatched.

Some people think there is no way that a Trump-Cruz alliance could be possible now after all the fracas that was created between the two. But that is nothing. They will kiss and make up.

And in case you missed it, Donald said after Iowa he would still consider Ted as his VP. In other words, the slugfest was all for show.
