I watched RR’s funeral from start to finish.
I walked past RR’s casket in the Capitol and watched funeral procession from roof of my office building.
Me too...alongwith my now departed mama...we blubbed big time....
My daughter and son-in-law were in the Army at the time, stationed at Ft. Meyer. He was in the Old Guard and was one of the soldiers behind the caisson. She was standing at attention with her company as it passed by and had the honor to salute it.
You and me both.
Our house backed on to the Library property. There were shuttle buses running past our bedroom 24/7 for a couple days. Got some great pictures. SS were patrolling the hillside on horses.
On the day of the funeral our subdivision was in lockdown but they let us stand on the corner to see the procession. Saw Margaret Thatcher go by.
Reagan’s funeral: I was on Penn Ave for the procession in DC to the Capitol. The F16 low flyover, missing man formation, was breathtaking. Was there for his inauguration in ‘81 too, very emotional.
