I’ll admit to the point on the importance of immigration. I hear Trump saying a lot about it, but I just don’t have the confidence that he’ll make good on really effectively sealing the border and stopping the flood.

No one on the Trump side ever offers a reasoned defense on his career long flip flops from liberal to campaign conservative. No one.

Well, here’s my defense, then.

In 2002 I was a crazy liberal who only supported Bush because of 9/11. In 2004 I was a moderate who voted Bush because Kerry was THAT bad, but I was still all-in for gay rights, pro-Muslim, and all kinds of crap like that. And now I’m here. Dealing with 2004-2016 MESS that the establishment and the Dems have handed us has solidified me as anti-DC, pro-REAL marriage, and pro-life.

If I can change from the twit that I was into who I am now, I know that Trump can change as well. What you see as flip-flopping, I see as a businessman whose attention has been turned to the state of the country. And so the go-along liberalism that you just sort of take on when you’re surrounded by liberals in NYC (or that I was surrounded by in St. Louis) is giving way to, if not ‘orthodox’ conservatism, at least anti-leftism, especially now that his political attention has turned away from whose palms he needs to grease to get the current project built, and more towards what he can do about a country that’s teetering on the edge of the abyss.

It is my opinion that Trump is the best choice to handle the mess that the country is in, but I’m not going to begrudge any Cruz supporter his opinion as well, provided that no matter who wins we pitch in and pull together in the general.

If you are honest, rather then merely worshiping this or that canidate, all candidates have inconsistencies in their resumes. That part of political reality rather the the dogmatic purity bubble world dogmas of certain political cliches. Reagan, would not of made it past the purity tests some people now expect of political candidates.

Here is what I count on with Trump. His Ego, and his love for the USA. He wants to be a winner, he want to make the USA Great again. Reagan showed how you do that. Political Liberalism, at it core, is fundamentally anti-USA Exceptionalism. The Political Left in this country isn’t intrested in “making American Great” it is interested in “getting-even-with-themism.”

Trump’s Ego is going to drive him to want to win. If you love the USA, you win with the Political Right, not the Left. i

Look at it this way. Trump makes a promise. He’s always done his best to fulfill his promises or he could not be so successful. If he is President he will still do his best to fulfill his promises. He loves America and the American Dream. Maybe we should relax a bit and let him have his shot. I’m sure he will gather the best team to do the job.
Crass, yes. Hope he tones it down. But he does seem to have a blessed life and wants to share it with us.
