Good points. One has to pretend we don’t live in a thoroughly twisted 2016 to rule Trump out because of a perceived boorishness.

What other candidate has stuck to unpopular positions or (as recently) called out a live debate audience as paid shills? Republicans and conservative purists love Trump as a sin-eater, as a bulldozer clearing the way for them to do the usual number on us once elected.

I’m willing to risk it on Trump based on the serious, measured man I’ve seen in the one-on-one interviews (including the older ones).

Initially I leaned Walker, Cruz, Trump. Still regret Walker stepping out, I guess he knows best...I've said several times that Cruz is better than we deserve. In a sense I still think that's true. If we were a nation of sober intellectuals Cruz would be perfect...and unnecessary.

I believe Trump is the man for this time and place. I believe the country needs a leader who can control the narrative. While I would prefer a purer conservative such as Cruz, being conservative is of itself not sufficient.

Those with business experience will recognize the term line/staff. It refers to the different functions that exist in a business. Line people actually run the business and move it forward...executives, sales, etc. Staff play a support role.

There's no doubt for anyone familiar with the terms that Trump is line. He's a prototypical CEO. The more I consider Cruz the more I regard him as staff.

I believe he would be impotent as President. He couldn't move voters, he couldn't move Congress. He would have a clear idea what needed to be done, though.
