When I think of SOME men, those who defend our country, some of THEM aren't yet twenty. Wah! Boohoo! Cam Newton is a spoiled brat. End of story. |

Panthers were easily within winning the game when the sCAMmer pitched that hissey fit. And then he stepped in it knee deep. Best example of snatching defeat from victory I have ever seen. And I’m NOT a Denver fan but respect the Manning family.

I didnât see the halftime show but a musician buddy texted me that Coldplay was faking it as their instruments had no cords or wireless transmitters. As a guitarist, I was looking for cables from the guitars and commented to my friends that they were faking it because there were none. Then I looked closer and saw that they did have very short (8") cables plugged in which obviously would have been wireless transmitters. That doesn't mean they weren't faking it, but they were plugged in. Crappy band, though, and horrible half-time show. Beyonce looked like she could pull a plow with those thighs.

Go to your first red flag and figure it out. That ball was bobbling all over the place when he hit the ground. He never had control. Good call.

Manning class?!? Pumping Budweiser, as if they were his NASCAR team sponsor?
Please. Saint manning showed up and his defense got him the win.

At first I was rooting for NC because it's NC and they've never won a Super Bowl. But I'm happy that Newton lost.
He was terrible, but then again, the Broncos made Brady look bad, although not as bad.
Best half-time show in ages. Coldplay is the perfect band for a wide audience. Great upbeat music. Bruno Mars was good. Fun song and choreography. But enough with Beyonce already.

He went after that fumble like Obama I forgot about that. Pretty bad. At 38, Brady would have gone after it without hesitating.

... and the call in the endzone of interference when the ball seemed uncatchable. As I recall, it was a holding call prior to the pass rather than an interference call. As such, catchability was irrelevant. The announcer pointed that out.

Brady has more class and work ethic than Cam and HGH boy put together.

I have a theory that the extra week between games actually favors good defensive units because the coaches have more time to put together a game plan to shut the offense down.
Not only did Cam Newton play poorly in this game. On one play in particular late in the game he absolutely gave up on a loose ball that had been stripped from him. If you watch the highlights, he just stands there and looks at it on the ground while other players from both teams scramble for it before Denver eventually recovers it.

Awesome. I should have read the whole thread before posting a message about that play. LOL.

That’s what the Super Bowl has become with all the media attention. It’s more about storylines than performance.

He should have fallen/dove for it; it is the last game of the season, and if he doesn’t want to get dirty at this point he doesn’t deserve to win. Plenty of other QBs that have won Super Bowls have risked injury to recover their own fumbles. He played as though he was injured anyway (and I think he is a great QB).

As one of the talking heads said afterwards, that is the most excited Eli gets. I assumed that he was still focused on how the game would end (I don’t think that was taken after they won); Carolina was favored for a reason.

True, but I still have to be shown he’s a good QB. He has a huge arm, but his delivery is a little slow. Who knows about reading defenses?
