//No, it is not about prophets, the test for prophets is if what they say comes 100% true.//
Again, check your Bible - It IS specifically about testing prophets. You are correct (Using Deuteronomy) but Jesus didn’t say that in Deuteronomy 18:22, but in Matthew 7:15-20 which is what Cruz Sr is referencing. Look it up, Jesus is talking about prophets. Do you need me to cut and paste it for you?
As far the other part I was quoting the other poster who claimed that, not me. I do think Cruz thinks he is a political Jesus.
¶
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
`
Mat 7:2
For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
Mat 7:3
And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:4
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
Mat 7:5
Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
The context of the conversation was broader than just prophets. Sorry for the disjointed conversation but cut and paste on a tablet is beyone easy for me.
If Cruz senior quoted non deut, then he perhaps is guilty of mislabeling, not intent. The broad meaning has always been (and a very strong Jewish principle) that you can only judge a man by his actions, not his words.
Now seeing how you cut the thought off at 15, instead of including the whole sermon as a whole I see the error and the logic of how you got there, not so scary now, whew.
