How do you know that Trump is not a pretend-conservative, considering his track record?
Good point. I think he is a "pretend-conservative", but the post I was answering posited, as a premise, that Trump would get the nomination, and that he would then need an appropriate running-mate.
So I accepted the premise, as I would accept the outcome of a Trump win of the nomination, and went with the scenario.
