No, that’s not what happened at all. Everybody understands eminent domain for public use projects - including railroads and utilities - is legitimate. The Kelo decision wouldn’t have caused the uproar it did if it were about them. Donnie tries to conflate the two, but he can’t hide from the fact that he believes real estate developers should have the right to take what they want, including the homes of little old ladies. Most conservatives disagree.
The Trumpeters only hear what they want. This attraction with Trump is exactly like the original attraction, the Democrats and many independents, had with Obama. He talks in generalities and is vociferous on a few populist issues (conservative issues in Trump's case). People project their own beliefs on him as if he's is saying exactly what they believe even though he is not.
He is certainly preferable to any of the Democrats, and most of the Republicans IMO, but he is absolutely no conservative and would probably be a complete disaster when it comes to SC appointments.
