I really appreciate your concern! I was initially opposed for the same reason.
But I now think the trade off is more than worth it, for the reasons I posted above.
I’d like to see a requirment of a super majority for increasing spending or raising rates, which would also address this issue. That I guess that’s naive, but with a conservative president and both houses of congress, who knows?
