I really looked at the VAT aspect of Cruz’s plan. I’ve been violently opposed to the hidden aspect of a European style VAT for many years.
But, in addition to cutting the income tax rate for everyone to 10%, with generous exemptions for low and middle income earners, Cruz’s tax replaces the corporate income tax, the payroll tax, the death tax, and the alternative minimum tax.
Once they are gone, it will be very hard to bring them back!
It eliminates nearly all deductions, pulling the rug out from under the corrupt Washington influence peddling machine. That is huge.
I think the Cruz plan would be a dream come true for the American economy. And the resulting economic growth would most benefit those in the middle and on the bottom.
If the few rich people in this country like it, too, I say great! Leave the class warfare to the Dems.
