"Imagine 4.9 million new jobs. Instead of Obama's income stagnation, imagine average wages rising 12.2 percent over the next decade. Capital investment rising 43.9 percent. And every income-level seeing double-digit increases in after-tax income. Imagine exports and manufacturing jobs booming. Our trade deficit falling as the tax bias against American made goods is eliminated. Imagine a 10 percent income tax, with every American filling out his or her taxes on a postcard or iPhone app. And abolishing the IRS as we know it." - Ted Cruz

What, specifically, does he mean by “as we know it?” He can’t eliminate collection and refund disbursement activities. Is he going to eliminate all enforcement activities? Is he going to eliminate tax exempt organizations, so that we don’t need people to process their applications?

If you fill out your return on a postcard, or and iPhone app, then it must mean that all payments will be made electronically. Is Ted Cruz telling us that he wants to eliminate cash and checks?

Can you tell me how the agency that will administer Ted Cruz’s tax plan will differ from the IRS as we know it?

Imagine 4.9 million new jobs.

Assuming he's talking about the same 10 year period his income increase is based on that is 41,000 new jobs per month. Or virtually no growth at all.

I'm a strong Cruz supporter but I think he needs to re-examine his statistics. If they truly are what he says then his tax plan isn't the answer. If his tax plan is the answer then the growth should be much higher than he's saying.
