Seems that if you don't want to sell something you own, the government shouldn't be able to force a sale at current market price. Obviously, you value it higher than that, or you would sell. At least twice the value and they must prove compelling public interest.

No. I am patriotic. If the government wants to build a military base, if i can afford it, I’ll give it for free. If they want a parking lot, they can get lost for whatever price.

I might consider giving it in exchange for no taxes for me and my descendants.
