For the last 15 or 20 years I've been doing exactly that. I recently retired and the younger people that I worked with couldn't believe the common everyday freedoms that I enjoyed when I was their age that we no longer have.
There can be no lasting freedom without the positive love of God.
And there is a danger in this love, because by its nature it grants permission to refuse it as well as accept it.
And the church in America has more and more refused it, loving itself rather than God and calling that Christlikeness.
God’s imminent reaction? Ptui!
I would think it is even more shocking to young people how many things middle-aged people attained (or are struggling to hold onto) that are beyond any hope for them: Homes, families/children, relative job stability and career advancement...
