How Obama Finagles The Numbers To Get The Unemployment Rate Down

Note how changes in the Unemployment Rate (blue) and the Labor Force Participation Rate (red) closely track each other.
Imagine what the blue Unemployment track would look like if the red Labor Participation track remained constant at 65.3%

(LEFT) BLUE = Labor Force Participation As A Percent Of The Government Defined Work Force
(RIGHT) RED = Unemployment Rate As A Percent Of The Government Defined Available Labor Force

The labor force participation rate is the number of available work force that are willing and able to work and either employed or actively looking for employment.

When I posted similar gov charts elsewhere, either the libtards avoided the discussion or made the bogus claim that retiring Baby Boomers were solely responsible for the decline.

Well, the population decline didn’t fall precipitously prior to 1958. Given the canonical retirement age of 65, the Boomer impact won’t rear until 2023. Of course that’s a serious problem, but it has nothing to do with the significant drop in workforce participation that’s on record.

I guess it’s Dubya’s fault... /s
