The Latest on the 2016 presidential campaign (all times local):

---------------------------

11:05 p.m.

Donald Trump says the dispute over Iowa's caucus results, in which he finished second to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is yesterday's news and he's more focused on the next race.

Trump, who on Wednesday was accusing Cruz of election fraud and calling for an Iowa do-over, told CNN's Anderson Cooper that he's so focused on the Feb. 9 contest in New Hampshire that "I don't care about that anymore."

Trump wrote on Twitter Wednesday that "based on the fraud committed by Senator Ted Cruz during the Iowa Caucus, either a new election should take place or Cruz results nullified."

The unbelievable stupidity is exhibited by those who no longer believe in fair play and HONESTY. They think anything goes. No wonder our country is going to hell.

Not at all. TIME moves on and Trump is interested in the NEXT election which is New Hampshire. How many people were squawking yesterday to forget about Iowa? Today they are yelling that he should continue to center his focus on Iowa.
You Cruz supporters are the most illogical people I’ve seen in a long time. Your guy is going to LOSE BIG in New Hampshire. REALLY LOSE BIG!

Nonsense: David Dewhurst tried that smear when Cruz kicked his butt in Texas, it didn’t work then I won’t work now.

How many cases have either Rubio or Cruz even litigated? No not in front of the Supreme Court, let’s start with Traffic court? :)

As long as he Delivers the Goods, it is all fine with me. I have supported so many Republicans over the years who have not delivered the goods. If you think a young, smart, clean, articulate first-term Senator who gives good speeches, wanted to be President since he was in High School, and was born in Canada to a Canadian father, and is in hock to Goldman Sacks and CitiBank won’t disappoint you, then I say “Go for it!” What could possibly go wrong?

I notice you left off American mother.

And Trump’s creditor list and amount is orders of magnitude over what you are implying is a problem for Cruz. Why does that not concern you?

Because we don’t know if Ted’s mother became a Canadian when his father did. There was a report that she was listed on a Canadian voter roll.

It works. I can also read the articles it finds for me:
Johnson added: "Eleanor was never a citizen of Canada, and she could not have been under the facts or the law. In short, she did not live in Canada long enough to be a Canadian citizen by the time Cruz was born in 1970: Canadian law required 5 years of permanent residence, and she moved to Canada in December 1967 - only 3 years before Senator Cruz's birth."

The document is a "preliminary list of electors," and not a record of those who actually voted. Such lists were also prone to error, according to Breitbart News sources.

This is not a “settled matter”. Here is a conflicting story that says that at least Ted’s father was in Canada eight years:

“Since he liked to eat seven days a week, he worked seven days a week, and he paid his way through the University of Texas,” Ted Cruz says of his father, “and then ended up getting a job and eventually going on to start a small business and to work towards the American dream.”

Only he did that in Canada, where Ted was born. His father went there after having earlier obtained political asylum in the U.S. when his student visa ran out. He then got a green card, he says, and married Ted’s mother, an American citizen. The two of them moved to Canada to work in the oil industry.

“I worked in Canada for eight years,” Rafael Cruz says. “And while I was in Canada, I became a Canadian citizen.”

The elder Cruz says he renounced his Canadian citizenship when he finally became a U.S. citizen in 2005 — 48 years after leaving Cuba. Why did he take so long to do it?

So? Many oil field workers go where the work is, leaving their families at home. Many times the oil field is in the middle of nowhere.

Dad living there does not mean Mom living there. You are stretching.

The existing public record shows that Ted’s parents married in the United States and moved to Canada where they started a oil prospecting software company, TOGETHER. Ted’s dad was not an oil field worker, he was a software engineer.

If elected President, Ted Cruz will be the first United States President who was born outside one of the United States, or a British Colony that would become part of the United States. While there were several candidates that were born outside of the United States, none of them were elected.

So if you want to support the natural-born Canadian for President, be my guest, but at least be honest enough to admit that you don’t care whether Ted is a natural-born American or not.

You ignore Trump’s actual words and deeds from his liberal last, yet cling to rumor and insinuation as gospel.

Here are some more rumors for you:

Cruz’s Cuban-born father and U.S.-born mother moved to Calgary in the 1960s and set up a business that helped oil companies process seismic data to pinpoint the best place to drill. His father, Rafael Cruz, lost himself in the bottle and abandoned the family here before finding religion and later becoming an evangelical pastor.

“Were it not for the transformative love of Jesus Christ, I would have been raised by a single mom without my father in the household,” Ted Cruz said during his announcement speech last year.

In 1974, Rafael Cruz, his drinking days behind him, returned to Calgary to retrieve his wife and toddler son and settled the family in Houston, Ted Cruz has said.

“It’s truly ironic, but if Rafael hadn’t become a bad boy in the first place, his son wouldn’t be running for the White House,” said Mike Galbraith, a geophysicist who worked with Cruz’s parents in Calgary.

Galbraith remembers Rafael Cruz as “a party animal” who would invite 100 people over to his pig roasts in the back yard of his swanky home along the Elbow River. With a math degree and a lot of ambition, he and his wife, Eleanor Darragh, a computer programmer, set up their own company. Galbraith recalled that Rafael Cruz loved this saying: “In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.”

Born Rafael Edward Cruz, the future senator from Texas was known as “Felito” as a baby, Galbraith said. Only later did he start using the name Ted.
