I may be hit by both sides but there is something different about the 2 candidates presentation that needs work. I support Trump but sometimes he makes me cringe with comments, but mostly many see him as outspoken and refusing to be limited by PC. Cruz on the other hand by nature has a delivery style when being non PC that can seem crass and nasty. Maybe it is that Trump is a “talker” and it all flows as natural. Cruz when not presenting facts seems so intense and almost abrasive even his smiles seem false. The video of Cruz doing imitations was painful to watch. On the other hand Trump’s facial expressions can be also. Seems they both could benefit by a re-evaluation of their presentation.

Neither comes across as well as Ronald Reagan. Of course, Reagan was an actor and that may have helped. (It doesn’t seem to have helped Alec Baldwin or Ben Affleck).

Reagan once said that he practiced his speeches over and over in front of a mirror until he could deliver them without emotion. Here’s one you might like:

He is matter-of-fact while discussing serious topics.

Yet I think RR’s default was an amiable smile. Perhaps there is some of that in Rubio. I think it is something one cannot learn or fake. I don’t think it reflects who you are, but it does affect how you come across.

I have 4 very high IQ men in my life: husband, son, son-in-law and grandson. Believe me they ARE intense, it seems to be part of their nature. When they aren’t intense they tend to be completely inside their head.

I think Trump is naturally a public kind of guy and Cruze a private kind of guy.

I see a lot of criticism of Cruze on this forum for behaviors/traits that I associate with very high IQ individuals.
