I have been called a liar for quoting The Donald himself. Anything negative gets an allergic level reaction.

Carter said Trump could be delt with—He isn’t locked into a philosopy. He can make a deal. I see this as a good thing—not a bad one.

Not hateful. Cruz says “Carter” I say “Glenn Beck”....it’s just as simple as that.

I’m going to vote for Trump, but citing Carter’s wayward ‘endorsement’ isn’t an attack nor is it hateful.

For his utterance of “Carter” I send back “Glenn Beck.”

No hate here.

“So when someone quotes Trump, is that an attack, too? I think it is.”

The discussion is about POLITICAL ADS, so don’t try to dodge or evade the issue with screaming generalities.

I agree Ted is stalwart and upstanding and firm. Yet, somehow Donald is dismissed with credentials and accomplishment.

I know one thing I’ll always be thankful for with regard to Trump - the reintroduction of the word “illegal” into our national dialogue, AND the notion that not all immigration is best, especially with Muslims, refugees and people we know nothing about.

The discussion is about: "Cruz Uses Carter's Words In Anti-Trump Ad." The fact that Carter correctly identifies Trump as a man who is "someone he'd choose" (his words) because, Carter said, "the reason is Trump has proven already that he’s completely malleable."

No doubt you would like to evade the discussion.

Why would Ted try to give Carter some sort of relevance?

Carter said Trump was ‘malleable’. A malleable substance is easily molded and doesn’t hold it’s shape under pressure like clay or putty.

If, however, you’re saying Trump has no core beliefs (beyond narcissism) then I’d have to say you’re probably correct.

“No doubt you would like to evade the discussion.”

Typical Cruz-bot response.

I gave a number of reasons why Carter was screwing around with his logic when I gave examples of Cruz being very malleable. Now, to avoid evading the discussion on your part, explain how Cruz is NOT being malleable when he votes for the Obama-RINO establishment agenda (TPA, Corker bill, H1-B visas). Specifically, how does those votes displease the globalist crowd? Globalist understand that speeches mean nothing; it is the votes that count.

In perspective:

Carter is a liberal fool. And as a liberal fool his words
about Trump is meant to be a compliment. However, speaking
as a liberal fool his comments about Cruz is meant to be
insulting.

It’s whats to be expected from a Georgia liberal
peanut-head.

It’s Alinsky. Don’t address substance, just attack the messenger.

To Democrats, “deals” mean they get 90% of what they want and the GOP gets maybe 10%. How is it going to be any different with Trump?

No more raw deals, period.

You’re right. Carter is the messenger. He’s identified a trait common to Trump that everyone can see. Good comment.

Neither comes across as well as Ronald Reagan. Of course, Reagan was an actor and that may have helped. (It doesn’t seem to have helped Alec Baldwin or Ben Affleck).

Reagan once said that he practiced his speeches over and over in front of a mirror until he could deliver them without emotion. Here’s one you might like:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXBswFfh6AY

He is matter-of-fact while discussing serious topics.

Yet I think RR’s default was an amiable smile. Perhaps there is some of that in Rubio. I think it is something one cannot learn or fake. I don’t think it reflects who you are, but it does affect how you come across.

I have 4 very high IQ men in my life: husband, son, son-in-law and grandson. Believe me they ARE intense, it seems to be part of their nature. When they aren’t intense they tend to be completely inside their head.

I think Trump is naturally a public kind of guy and Cruze a private kind of guy.

I see a lot of criticism of Cruze on this forum for behaviors/traits that I associate with very high IQ individuals.
