The Republicans Who Helped Obama Ruin the Country Support Donald Trump

Let us not be naive or willfully ignorant about what is happening. Donald Trump has a far longer history of affiliation with Democrats and Democrat causes than he does conservative, populist, or Republican causes. See him and hear him for yourself in his own words. Even in the first debate of Campaign 2016, Trump supported government run, Canadian style universal healthcare. There is no difference between his position on that and Bernie Sanders’ position.

Trump has long supported abortion rights. He has called for higher taxes and gun control. He has defended Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi. Donald Trump funded the Democrats against the tea party in 2012 and the establishment Republicans against the conservatives in 2014.

Now in 2016, the Republican consultant class and RINOs in Washington are lining up behind Donald Trump. They are doing so to stop the only guy who has put points on the board against them — Senator Ted Cruz. But it is not just Cruz. These Republican consultants and elected officials are lining up behind Trump over Senator Marco Rubio. In fact, the Republicans who most aggressively support expansive immigration and open borders are rallying to Trump, not Rubio.

Trump supporters are deluding themselves through blind rage and emotion. The guys in Washington know that Trump, who just last year supported universal healthcare and two years ago supported Mitch McConnell against conservatives, can be reasoned with in a way Cruz cannot.

This should be a damning indictment against Donald Trump in Campaign 2016. The very Republicans who have collaborated with Barack Obama to grow the national debt, keep immigration expansive, fund Planned Parenthood, and fund Obamacare are on Team Trump against Ted Cruz.

Hey, you just spammed me with this on another thread. And I replied:

I beg to differ. The Republicans Who Helped Obama Ruin the Country Support Marco Rubio.

It’s scary.

How could the Trump supporters forget all their values to fawn over this odd guy?

Can you be strongly pro-abortion and then a few years later claim to be pro-life?

No.

And Trump has no problem with Obamacare...he would just name it Trumpcare and run it right.

He would be wheeling and dealing all our rights and values away. He cannot be trusted.

Well, you haven't convinced me.

Say - maybe you should post this 70 or 80 more times, IN ALL CAPS.

Just to "drive the point home"...

All of your words are predicated on the idea that people never change. The Donald does not have that character flaw. Trump has changed his ideas about many things. One thing that has guided his thinking about the issues is an incredible ability to pragmatically analyze the facts of the issue. Then he creates a conclusion that will stand until new facts change that conclusion. All people do that. That's why it is the fallacious to use Argumentum Ad Homenum to support your conclusions. We can do better.

Let's take one change in his approach to the single-payer health care issue. One proposals put forth in 1999, when he last considered running for president was a single-payer health care program. "We had a much different country" when he proposed a single-payer system. Now he advocates a PRIVATE health care system.

"I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody's going to be taken care of much better than they're taken care of now." All one needs to do is read chapter 8 in his book, Time to Get Tough to understand that when Trump calls for "Universal Health Care" he means "everyone gets covered." I am for Universal healthcare as well because I want everyone covered.

In his book, he outlines the changes he wants to make with healthcare:

1.) Repeal of the McCarren Ferguson Act (selling across state lines).

2.) Expansion of Health Savings Accounts.

3.) "Making sure most Americans have access to PRIVATE health insurance in a vibrant and competitive market."

4.) Reform of our Veterans Administration health care system.

YOu are exactly right and it's time that folks woke up to the fact that Trump is not to be trusted. Jimmy Carter said it, he's malleable
