There are always those within the GOP who reside outside the true core of conservatism, and throw in with whoever the latest campaign conservative happens to be, always declaring that they won’t get fooled again, and then shout the loudest when their candidate stabs them in the back shortly after taking office.
No, I’m pretty certain it’s the actual conservatives that get stabbed in the back. Not the hangers on.
