The islamic calendar starts with the Medina Al Hijra. Not with mohammed's birth, death or his claim as a prophet. It starts when muslims began their immigration into Medina, which ended with the forced conversion of some of the population and the slaughter or slavery of the rest. This is their model. This IS what's in store for most of Europe unless they wake up! And yet our stupid press howls in indignant protest when Donald Trump suggests a moratorium on immigration of muslims into this country.
It’s not just the stupid press that howls over the truth that Trump put out on this issue, it’s the entire moronic democrat base. I have a few of them on our road, and in our extended family; stuck on stupid as one fine soldier once said.
Back when I was studying "World History" in grade school, they called it the Hegira.
"Hijra" is the original Arabic, and alien to our mother language. English speakers shouldn't use it as a calque, as if there were no English equivalent word.
We should prefer the English spellings and pronunciations, rather than give Arab demographic assailants the idea that they are "schooling" the infidels. Time to knock off the kumbaya, huggy-wuggy Mr. Rogers stuff.
