"They occupy a hidden world of desperation and poverty mixed with every-other-day maid service, free WiFi, continental breakfast in the lobby, and lunch and dinner in the 170-room motel's banquet room."If "every-other-day maid service, free WiFi, continental breakfast in the lobby, and lunch and dinner" is now "desperation and poverty" I just don't know how I survived growing up without so much as $350 sneakers and a smart phone.

I actually lived in a motel once. Was moving to Vegas and my boyfriend and his brother had already rented a house for us all but it was about a month 1/2 before it would be ready. A friend of theirs owned it and they were redoing it. He and I lived in a motel with a kind of kitchenette. No room service really but the housekeeper came every other day.
I kind of liked it. lol

She opens the door to her unit, ushering her children inside a space that she describes as "the size of two jail cells." What a thankless deadbeat. Jail cell? Then put me away.
