RE: If you heard a major news outlet reporting that a candidate was heading home and would not be going to New Hampshire and South Carolina, what would you initially think that means?
If I were a Carson supporter, I’d double check to see if Carson has officially given up before coming to any conclusions.
I DO NOT for a moment believe that Carson supporters are so dumb and gullible that a mere internet post would cause them to stop voting for him.
But remember, they’re also inside the caucus room, without the TV. Rubio’s people heard the reports and started to spread it, then some Cruz folks picked it up and shared it.
Nobody saw the correction because they were still inside the caucus.
CNN made it sound as if Carson was quitting, without saying so in so many words.
It wasn’t BASED on a media report. Cruz’s own operative DanPGabriel was tweeting he himself had “inside” info that Carson was out.
Cruz is trying to blame CNN. Plus CNN in no way indicated Carson was OUT. Cruz told his captains to start telling voters to caucus for another candidate because Carson was “out”
The only crew saying Carson was “out” was the Cruz crew. Not CNN. Carson’s own wife heard Cruz’s camp do it, in person.
