The difference is that neither Huckabee nor Santorum won Iowa after a month of being relentlessly attacked from all sides the way that Cruz was. Trump, the GOPe and the media threw everything they had at Cruz... and he still came out on top. Downplay it all you want, but Cruz's win was YUGE.

And Rush is right here. Trump was foolish to attack Cruz from the left... (1) on health care; and (2) on the notion that Cruz isn't someone who can cut deals with Pelosi and Schumer. It'll be interesting to see if Trump persists with this wacky strategy.

Cruz won’t be able to cut any deals. He will be lame duck if he wins, but he won’t so it doesn’t really matter.

A question that bothers me is, why does Trump think he needs to cut deals with Pelosi & Schumer? Because he thinks the GOPe would block him?
