This issue was hashed-out in the Book of Acts, and it was determined that gentile converts were not subject to all the requirements of Jewish law, but that basic moral principles must still be accepted, such as laws applying to adultery and fornication. Jesus did not tell the adulterous woman that adultery was ok, but to "go and sin no more."
