My issue with Cruz is this -- I don't doubt that he is natural-born. But he was born in Canada to a non-American parent. There's no way around that he was born under rather unusual circumstances.

If a democrat was born in Sudan/Brazil/Sweden/pick-your rotten-place, to a a non-American parent, would I want him/her to be able to run? Hell no.

I believe this is the first time I've voiced my concern on this score here on FR. I do like Cruz, but to pretend his origins aren't problematic, or that they don't set a very bad precedent, is disingenuous.

Here is what. I am admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States; have argued Con Law cases; and I am a closer call Cruz supporter--I would vote for either him or Trump. I think both would do a great job--far better than the guy we have now.

I wrote on this narrow issue, Article II, Sec. 1 of the Constitution, first, for money, when I was on the Editorial Board of the Law Review at law school. Have been to Conventions; been alternate to both Credentials and Rules.

The legal issue; and the policy issue as you enunciate it, are a close question. There is no conclusive answer.

So in that context, the Liberal Establishment has used its control over the process to install an ineligible, unqualified person who is determined to destroy American culture and eliminate the Constitutional Judeo Christian ethical structure of our system of government and law. If our adversaries are not going to play by the rules, there is simply no reason we should see ourselves as bound by an arguable construction of the rules either to the extent we can avoid their application in an effort to get our country back.

I have said several times, Cruz is an expert Constitutional Lawyer and it is disappointing that he hasn't dealt with the issue earlier under circumstances in which he had leverage and could have resolved the issue. That's history. Hopefully he gets by it on the next pass.

It is a positive that we have both Cruz and Trump going to the Convention because that will discourage the establishment from getting rid of either one because the votes will go to the other.

Check out # 116 .

Thanks, David. If Cruz hasn't gotten around to dealing with this incredibly important issue, what else might he allow to "slip through the cracks" as president? If Cruz is elected, he will be in court for the next two years, which will allow 0hbama his (hopeful) ten years.

Another issue, Heidi Cruz On the Task Force, "Building A North American Community" advocating open borders.
