I hate the majority of that episode, though the Scotty - McCoy corridor conversation during the “court proceedings” was some of James Doohan’s best work. Pity that the network pulled the plug when it did, that was a lousy episode to end on.
I was happy to watch the episode where Kirk fought the Gorn lizard guy with my 10 year old the other day. He has been getting into the show and Kirk is generally a manly guy so I like him to actually witness men acting like men on TV!
However, At the end I forgot that there was this athenian alien guy who was this massive pacifist.
It pissed me off because the gorn murdered an entire colony of men women and children without giving them warning to leave and at the end of the episode, Kirk smiled and said “don’t kill the Gorn, we’ll talk and work things out.”
It was like how we are handling ISIS today.
I liked it when it first came on and I still watch every Saturday night on METV.
One thing I have noticed is that last season had some weak episodes. Still some good ones but it probably was about time to end it.
