Sarah Palin appeared on CNN this afternoon to explain why, despite endorsing him for Senate four years ago and being good friends with him, she dropped Ted Cruz for Donald Trump in the presidential election.
Tapper asked, "What tipped the scales?" Palin said, "It became a much less difficult decision once some inconsistencies started coming out about Cruz's position on amnesty, on building that wall and securing our jobs and our homes."
She even said Cruz would be "more of the same."

Consistency would suggest that Trump has switched his position multiple times this election cycle. This can only be accurately applied to Ted Cruz, who supported legalization in March, then denied it and began evading questions for 9 months on the topic, and then in December claimed that he never supported legalization at all.
Cruz people are living in the false bubble of conservatism in the Bush years.
Palin realizes that double-talking the issues with no real conservative wins is a GOPe strategy for failure.
Sarah Palin’s is the avant-garde of conservatism. Just not Bush-era “conservatism”.
She simply wants to be on the side of the winner. Convinced Trump will win, she jumped on the bandwagon.
Palin has been a big disappointment to me. It started when she campaigned for McCain for reelection to the senate. She ACTIVELY campaigned for him. She could have kept her mouth shut.
Hahahahahaha! [gasp] Hahahahaha! [wheeze] Hahahahaha! Oh, the irony of that post! Cruz has HUNDREDS of proven, rock-solid conservatives endorsing him for every one endorsement for Don Trump. Literally hundreds. Use the words “endorsed” or “endorsement” under titles in search if you want to see them.
“Palin came to the dance with Cruz, but left with Trump.”
Actually, Palin came to the dance with McVain and went home. She had a date with Cruz after he begged her ‘cause he wanted to be seen with the “pretty girl” to help his election. Then she went home. Now, with Trump, it’s a whole new dance.
Go Trump.
Nobody reads your crap moron. The reason for that is you copy and paste bs that doesn’t prove your insane accusations. Now post the quote with Cruz using the words supports and amnesty. I mean we know touchback is amnesty, right puny?
“And then I think we can have a conversation about what to do about the people who remain here.”
Weasel words for amnesty. How many decades have we been having that conversation?
Correction - she’s a private citizen who endorsed Trump. Get over it and go check out what Beck and Cruz are up to.
“In other words, Cruz supports STAYING
Trump supports EXITING... “
-——————————————————————————————Exactly, which is why I’m supporting Trump. Legalization for those untold millions of illegals here IS amnesty, and I’m so proud of Sarah for choosing the more conservative and stronger man.
Notice that you do not provide any rational "reasons" for why Cruz saying that he supports "common sense immigration reform" that "brings those who are here illegally out of the shadows" isn't proof of anything.
Was she not a city council member, mayor, energy chairwoman and governor? Does she not have a PAC? She’s a politician.
Funny comment from the amnesty queen Sarah Palin, when one considers her incoherent inconsistencies in the following interview.
On October 26, 2008, Palin was interviewed by Jorge Ramos (lol) of Univision.
Palin:There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant - there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.
Ramos: Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?
Palin: No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. Theyâve got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.
Ramos:To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
Palin: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.
Consistency only refers to the positions taken during this election cycle? If that is your position, then all I'll say is that says a lot about Trump supporters.
Wish she and Todd would spend more time with their family. They could use some better direction from them.
She criticizes Cruz for inconsistencies and backs Trump, and does that with a straight face?
These are cowardly attacks on Palin. How they would be lauding her if she endorsed GOPe shill Cruz.
Cruz’s twitter threat to Palin - right after she endorsed Trump - said it all.
So you prefer Cruz’ position—just legalize them all, and let some liberal judge do the dirty work of granting them citizenship.
Hint: if they all have to leave, it will be 100% easier to keep the criminals and parasites out. Once they’ve all been legalized, game over...for the USA.
“You neglect to mention the fact that Ted Cruz said that was but a ruse to trick the Democrats into exposing their true agenda.”
“exposing their true agenda”??
It was printed out in black and white in the Gang of Eight bill. The democrats were literally shouting their agenda. They still do.
What's worse? Someone moving further to the right than Rush Limbaugh in 2013 or someone who we can prove has been lying to you for 9 entire months about his past?
The choice is clear.
Consistency is limited to election cycles? LYou are a joke.
