If really want to shake things up: the first five or six state primaries (or caucuses) should be changed every presidential cycle.

the point of this is to keep all three branches of government in a state of open combat with each other.

I do believe that was the original intent of the founders.
It is something we need to return to. gov’t is evil.

That’s a good idea.

I come from Iowa, and when I was younger I loved being first to caucus, because for at least a few months every four years we were something more than flyover country that could be ignored and dismissed by the media.

Now that I’m older and have lived in some different states, I’d like every state, at least the smaller ones, to get a chance to shine too.

I like that idea! .....What would happen if CA was the first primary and had to deal with over a dozen candidates splitting the votes, instead of being a late voting State when it’s only a couple of candidates? Do the same with NY. Then let the large flyover States and the South do their voting. ....It would probably change the usual outcomes.
