How about the simple answer people like Trump because he is not a phoney, has identified the deep fundamental problems facing this nation and has discussed how to fix them in a straight forward way.
There is no cult of personally going on Trump is simply rocking it.
I’ve talked to hundreds of trump supporters...they like how he sticks it to democrats and the press. (I do too) . They have no idea what the man really stands for. They shtug off any real analysis as sour grapes or he has changed or old news...
he had a chance to prove he had changed but he took the easy political road on ethanol. He supports McConnell. He can deal with pelosi and Reid...he changed on amnesty just before he ran ( yes he really did) I will pretend he’s changed on abortion but we know he hasn’t.
Well the same could be said for the chances the other candidates had as well. When illegal Mexican children beat pinyatas of them and the British Parliament tries to ban them, they very well may become the front runner. Until then, it’s best not to go around calling your fellow Americans stupid. It doesn’t help anyone’s cause.

Yeah, it needed some censorious scolding to the American public about how they have failed as voters and defy God’s will if they don’t vote for the forgetful foreigner. Some awkward choreographed hugs and feigned prayer takes would have helped too. And a condescending smirk, because every red blooded American wants to be looked down on by a Latin padrone.

I haven’t seen a person run for office this unabashedly pro-American since Reagan.
This guy seems to love this nation like it was going out of style (which it actually was).
That really says something to people of all types. It isn’t as some god on high attitude either. It’s really this “we are in this together” spirit that is the exact opposite of the past 8 years. We need this badly in a world that seems to be falling apart.
If people want to call it a “cult”, then call it the Cult of America....or shorten it to patriotism.
A kardashian would draw even more. Their reality show had more fans.
