TRump loses IOWA.
no show in debate = loss in polls.
A few weeks, maybe a month ago, in one of the bazillion argument threads I said I didn't think Trump would win and wouldn't put any more money into doing so that he had to in order to stay close to Cruz. The key thing for Trump was staying close and if Cruz couldn't beat him by 10 or 15 points in IA then Cruz was in trouble. I stand by that opinion.

The test is what happens as the primaries unfold, not IA or any other single state. How close to Rubio is to Cruz proves that and how Cruz focused on Trump instead of staying on message shows the Cruz machine knows how to win IA but whether it can win elsewhere remains to be seen.
If he wins the nomination, I'll vote for him, but I'm under no illusions and know damn well he's not anything more than yet another member of the club in DC, albeit one who the club old boars don't like because Ted didn't wait his turn. His raising Hell in the Senate is nothing. The party heads know that's how a Senate or House member will go for attention when the Republicans are the majority. Ted rolling over on TPA, the Iran deal, and being so quiet about the Ryan budget deal prove that.
Hey, Texas producers can export oil for the first time in forty years, you think that wasn't bought and paid for or that the Senators from Texas don't know the details ?
Watever. Trump lost IA. You think that's a big deal, fine.
