Awesome ad! Trump lays out his plans to cut deals with the establishment, praises his friends Hillary, Pelosi, Reid and Schumer.
My rabbi made quite a big deal about it. Maybe he was just too harsh with Sol.
But Jesus never supplied superfluous shame. Here is where you deny the ability of grace to suggest repentance just by its mere presence and the mere action of conscience.
Jesus said people who do that kind of denying of the power of grace are preceded by prostitutes into the kingdom of heaven.
What are you going to do about THAT shame, shame-boy?
OK, Talmud-boy, but that isn’t scripture, that isn’t God, that isn’t Jesus.
Men LOVE shaming in religion! It gives them control.
God uses the grace-nudge approach far more often.
Having a conscience requires knowing and comprehending the effects and power of shame. No shame, no conscience.....you have 0bamao and Hildebeast.
Hmmmm. I remember another Biblical giant, who had an eye on the wife of another. What did God say about him?
Acts 13: 22 After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: 'I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.' ...
You conflate some need to shame on the side, with the already existing sense of conscience.
You therefore try to shame God.
Will not work — God will push that shame back on you. It is an ironclad spiritual rule.
Explain to me please why Pharisees got the hell fire sermon and the adulteress did not?
(It’s because the Pharisees had seared away their consciences... and it looks like you are among them, frankly, with the usual excuses they gave for how they treated adulteresses.)
Well, I went to synagogue and Catholic church and Evangelical churches as a very young person when searching for Him in my life. Our neighborhood didn’t have much in terms of access to the Word of God. The “missionaries” weren’t all that fearless, it would seem.
The pharisees were hypocrites. You know that.
Jesus is like nothing else. If you only knew congregations that had built religions around Him, your approach is understandable.
But for those who personally encountered Him upon being willing to yield without manmade pontificating — He is a veritable fountain of grace.
How did songs like Amazing Grace come to be written? You might research into that. Just for an example. There is no Catholic or Jewish equivalent.
Please don’t play dumb on your candidate’s position and record.
Civil liberties - Trump wants the NSA spying restores and said he’s ok if the NSA listens on his phone calls. Calls Snowden a traitor.
Health care - Trump said “sorry, conservatives, but we have to cover everybody.” He wants universal health care with the government filling in any gaps for anybody who doesn’t get private sector coverage.
Moral values - Seriously? Trump is all about New York Values. He brags about committing adultery. His children came out in support of same-sex marriage and he told Stern he’s against it, but “could change his mind.” He said he was for partial-birth abortion but then tries to convince us he flip-flopped to pro-life. He tries to posture himself as a religious Christian but no one buys it.
And so are you, if you claim to represent God but do not appreciate the fineness of His approach and in fact pooh pooh it.
Really....is this the conversation that relates to Cruz/Trump and the struggle to rebuild this nation?
Lets look at the documentation for all these claims someday.
As a sinner I've always found a little guilt to be motivating. Although maybe that is just my conscious?
One of my daughters is going through some stuff, and a lot of it is due to shame about stuff. (Stuff that she did, was forgiven for, she doesn't do it anymore, and I seriously forgot all about it. She kind of had to poke my memory a bit. Of course I don't remember lots of stuff.)
It's sad to see her hanging onto that. And the damage it can do.
I will admit *I* am a sinner. Always have been and likely will die as a sinner. But, I do believe in His grace and forgiveness. I expect to be before my Lord for quite some time in judgement.
You're completely wrong. We're sick of being told only a moderate can win and then watch Dole, McCain and Romney go down in flames to a candidate who actually has passionate, core beliefs. The base is only motivated by a staunchly ideological candidate. The swing voters are only motivated by following the most enthusiastic people they meet like lemmings. That's why you need to energize the base first and then see the remaining necessary voters fall in line behind them.
Do you know the Old Testament story of Eden? Adam and Eve felt shame. But nobody but Satan was testifying against them. In fact God said to them, who said you were naked? It wasn’t Him — He was not furnishing the shame.
Just because an illness commonly produces a rash, does not mean the rash is necessary before the illness can subside.
You talk grace down. Grace opens up the motivator of love, which sounds unlikely to us mortals who went to the karma system when we sinned with Adam in Eden. But God makes the rules and it puts the shamers to shame.
You talk His grace down, as have the men who sold you that point of view. Christianity is not a karma system. Churchianity is a karma system. It has to be — how else will men stay in control?
