While this author would think that a self-proclaimed group of "Conservative Misfits" would go after establishment types or perhaps the socialists who have taken over the Democrat party, "sundance" at the Last Refuge prefers to target Mark Levin, Glenn Beck and Ted Cruz, while lauding Donald Trump almost as loudly as Breitbart has been of late.
With friends like this, conservatives don't need enemies.
Consider the latest smear piece by "sundance." It cites a "report" which is actually a series of tweets claiming that a man named "Don Fairly" left the Cruz campaign along with seven other staffers.

Regardless of who we support, we should be careful to identify those who deliberately distribute disinformation. We want to know the truth about our candidates - the good, the bad & the ugly. Only then can we make sound decisions about the direction of this country.

Hrm. The Trump folks lie. Imagine that. The apple doesn’t fall far from the candidate’s tree on that, I guess.

I was skeptical about the lack of specifics about unnamed "staffers" who quit the Cruz campaign. My guess is that this is a free lance dirty tricks job. I'd like to think this is beneath Donald Trump or his inner circle.
It could also be the work of a GOP-E type, who is willing to temporarily use Trump to knock out Cruz early in order to get a one-on-one with a more GOP-E friendly candidate. (Note: I am a Cruz supporter, and do NOT think such a strategy will work. Knock out Cruz cleanly, and Trump will be the second choice of too many of us.)

The Trump folks echoed the liw. I'm not ready to say they are responsible for the original lie. We have to look deeper at this San Diego guy's ties. This is like a game of Clue, multiple suspects.

Amen
Both the top 2 and most of the bottom tier are good people.
No need to make up stories about them or their campaigns.
The choice is clear:
One candidate is consistent in is positions.
We know what he will do as President.
The other candidate has been all over the map in the past.
He is a big gamble. He may turn out to do great things.
Or he may not. We may get lucky.

I just went to the Treehouse and seen nothing about any Cruz staffers quitting or any Don Fairly. Maybe it’s there and I just can’t find it but I looked at the article posted with the same title about the bloom being off the rose.

CTH has been known to play fast and loose with facts, and with drawing inferences. Interesting place for rumors and even facts, but use your own noodle. I searched for the "Fairy" guy after reading the article at CTH, and found no corroboration, so chalked it up as fiction until shown otherwise.
Same is true with just about any internet source. If perfection is the standard, then we have nothing to work with, at all. Even court filings and decisions are riddled with errors.

Look for articles by ‘Sundance’. I avoid his like the plague, as I’ve already noticed he was being deliberately dishonest.

What threw me was the term “staffer”. Cruz has thousands of volunteers (including me) who are unpaid and might loosely be called “staffers”. Seven quitting out of thousands might not be a big deal. The lack of anyone willing to speak, or evidence that they jumped to another campaign was also telling.
I have found Conservative Tree House to be over the top myself. I am a Cruz supporter who does his best to be truthful in his posts, because truthful is good in and of itself, and because many Trump supporters are acting in good faith and deserve a hearing (some of them, as with ANY campaign, not so much). When a winner is decided, we are going to have to be on the same team, against Team Hillary or whoever.
