I have read that Cruz not only did not realize he held Canadian citizenship, but that he only renounced it 18 months ago.

It’s just stunning how many times Cruz has had to say, I didn’t know, they didn’t tell me, there was an error made, it’s McConnell’s fault, I was not for AMNESTY, when he has made miles of ground on saying he is the smartest guy in the room, the very best debater, the only one who knows the Constitution.

The “ick” factor is starting to take on a life of its own.

I thought Cruz was infamous for his memory. I’m as impressed with that supposed fact as I am with his master debater status.

I think the statement that Cruz “did not know” he held Canadian citizenship is a lie, and is an easily-proven lie, at that.

I have opposed Cruz here for months, on the grounds that he cannot be elected. I’ve repeatedly praised his adherence to the constitution, his rhetorical skills, and his analytical mind.

But I think his responses to questions about his lifelong dual citizenship are a deliberate deception, and it makes me think less of him.
