At least she’s never had the opportunity to catch VD from her husband.
The first woman - first quisling - first person convicted of espionage... "Firsts" are important to the New York Times because they measure their worth in prizes, not 'readers who trust them'...
Vying for who can give away the most “free” stuff is “...substantive debate over real issues...”?
I do not remember the NYT using this entirely appropriate phrase to describe the least experienced person to ever occupy our White House - eight years ago when they were getting tingles up their leg over the brilliance of the smartest man ever to permit us to worship him.
“...the Republican presidential contenders have been bombarding Americans with empty propaganda slogans...”
You mean like “Hillary for America”? LOL! Right—she is. Is her bank account called “America”?
My first thought is that 0bola will not offer a pardon this early in the process. He would have to issue hundreds of pardons to get far enough away from Hillary to make this go away. Even that carries its own set of problems. Hillary can't accept a pardon and stay in the race.
Why is she being pardoned before a trial? EXACTLY what did she do that requires a pardon? She has consistently denied having done anything wrong.
Now that I think about it, The 0bolas and their staffs really don't like the Clintons and don't want them back in the White House. This would make 0bola hesitant to do anything to protect her from prosecution. There is then the matter of the famed Clinton opposition research file. They are supposed to have quite a bit of major dirt on 0bola that I am sure he doesn't want revealed. Hillary can dangle this over his head while telling him that he damn well better make this go away. There is only so much 0bola can do without exposing himself to future criminal prosecution for Obstruction of Justice.
Offering Hillary a pardon after the FBI recommends prosecution might kill two birds with one stone. Just the offer of a pardon would place her in an untenable position.
Does she accept the pardon and make the legal problems go away or does she fight and risk serious prison time? She won't get a second shot at a pardon.
If she accepts the pardon she takes on another freight train worth of political baggage. Either way she takes major political damage that she can't afford to take.
