Voters that can think for themselves vote the way THEY WANT. Non-RATS, of course.

“’Vote-Shaming’: An Effective Leftist Strategy”

So why is the great “Consistent Conservative” now using them?

Cruz is reportedly using this tactic. If so, Cruz is going off the rails. He’s losing me more and more all the time.

It probably is effective in increasing turnout. Whether those people are going to caucus or vote for the campaign that shamed them is doubtful.

I can see how such a tactic could and probably would be effective with liberals - after all, the opinion by others overrules the opinion of themselves. It is a bit of a hallmark.

And I could see how such a tactic could be effective in an urban setting - especially states that have made it easy for even the laziest of voters to vote.

But I can see such a tactic being used towards ‘Republican’ voters backfiring on a massive scale. Especially for an ‘anti-establishment’ candidate.

Someone who is against the Washington establishment is probably the most likely to be annoyed by such a mailing. They probably don’t want to know how often a neighbor votes, nor do they want shoved in their face exactly how much detailed information is out there on them.

Worse, those inclined towards accepting such letters (especially after the barrage of calls and mailings that many Iowans experience each presidential cycle) are most likely to vote for establishment candidates. You’re encouraging those most likely to follow the herd to act like the herd.

At the end of the day, I don’t see any possible gain for the Cruz campaign from these mailings, and most likely it will be a detriment.

Sounds like Cruz is a democrat running on a Republican ticket since he's using the same tactics...wouldn't you say?

How hideously stupid, course without someone’s coat tails to ride on, he really can't do anything himself...

Because nothing inspires voter loyalty like a shaming letter. LOL!

Cruz has said all along he was modeling his voter turnout operation after the most effective one he could find, Obama’s. Roughly 180 degrees different in substance, but copying the only thing Obama has done that worked. It didn’t hurt Obama with his successors. So we shouldn’t be surprised to see things new to the GOP side. Based on recent results the GOP side needed some new tactics. Whether Cruz’s shaming or Trumps faux WWE style outrage will work better time will tell.

'Vote-Shaming': An Effective Leftist Strategy

So is vote buying and resurrecting the dead.

That doesn't mean they ought to be emulated by the right.
