Christians Cringe at Donald Trump’s Sexy Past
Daily Beast ^ | 1/26/2016 | Betsy Woodruff

Evangelical Christians, at the moment, are totally enamored with a candidate who has profited off strip clubs, cheated on his wife, and appeared on the cover of the nation's pre-eminent porn magazine.

And to top it off, Jerry Falwell Jr.-the heir of the Moral Majority mantle-just endorsed him.

(snip)

So far, Trump's top foes have largely steered clear of attacking him based on his sexcapades and scandals. Even while he and Rubio lob birther-esque attacks at Ted Cruz for being born in Canada, Trump has evaded any hard-hitting criticism for his multiple marriages, casino ownership, and appearance on the cover of Playboy magazine.

A series of tweets from Sen. Ben Sasse, a freshman Republican from Nebraska, may suggest that the days of giving Trump a pass over his New York-values personal life are over.

"You brag abt many affairs w/ married women," the senator tweeted on Jan. 24, addressing Trump. "Have you repented? To harmed children & spouses? Do you think it matters?"

In The Art of the Deal, Trump boasted about bedding other men's wives.

"If I told the real stories of my experiences with women, often seemingly very happily married and important women, this book would be a guaranteed best-seller," he wrote.

I’m undecided and just saw this story but perhaps, this is what other campaigners should be posting, that Playboy cover. I’ll have to let it set but it rubs me the wrong way.

“When it comes to explaining how most men act, especially powerful men, I think ill listen to a Swedish girl over a Chinaman.

That’s just me.”

Too bad.

If they push this Hail Mary, it will bring in more votes for Trump. Puritans monitoring bedroom activities of others does not go over well.

Didn’t he divorce Maples to marry his current wife?

I keep thinking about the words of Jesus about he who is unfaithful in that which is least is unfaithful also in that which is much and he that is faithful in that which is least will also be faithful in that which is much. Faithfulness in marriage is hardly a minor thing - though it is a personal issue - but I think it speaks loads about someone’s character.

He cheated on Ivana with Marla Maples, which was a huge tabloid scandal at the time, parodied by SNL, etc. Then he divorced Ivana, married Marla, and then divorced Marla right before their pre-nup was about to hit a deadline for granting her much higher settlement money in a divorce. Then he married Melania. Along the way, he wrote in two books that he had enormous success at seducing and sleeping with women, including other people’s wives.

Another Trump supporter reveals himself to be an Archie Bunker-type judging people based on their race and ethnicity.

So society has gone that downhill that adultery is only objected to by "puritans" now?

Christians Cringe at Donald Trump's Sexy Past

What an interesting election season. The living breathing Constitution in action, complete with anti-nativist globalist reinterpretation, and now uncovering that last part written in invisible ink ...

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States, and who has demonstrated only the highest moral character, fidelity to their spouse, or in the case of certain sects, spouses, but NO knocking boots outside wedlock!

Heh heh. By all means, in a Kardashian and Jersey Shore tainted modern world let's wear puritanism on our shirtsleeves because courting the chaste, frigid, asexual, eunuch, frustrated geek vote will clearly win elections outside our "red" states. NOT.

Strange how these things always work out for us, eating our own and all ( Alinsky himself wouldn't believe this ). Gingrich exposed as an adulterer and then Livingston, their "conservative" support vanishes without a trace and then the GOPe (R)epublicrats step in and insert RINO extraordinaire and NAMBLA hero Dennis Hastert. Yay.

One important lesson everybody missed was that rather than being praised as the virtuous party of wholesome values willing to even sacrifice their House Speakers to moral perfectionism, instead the hypocritical media and (D)ummycrats tarred us as the party of perversion with Foley and others!

One wonders just who actually depresses hardcore Christian voters more, a normal heterosexual playboy or a Mormon? Just asking. Ah, we know the answer so let's stop kidding ourselves and face reality. Trump's sexcapades as a young man are not a bug, but a feature for the majority of modern American voters.

P.S. lots of sarc and humor intended! All of it practically guaranteed to be ignored by Cruz supporters and Romney defenders and everyone else with a big giant stick inserted up their butt. :-)

I find the whole thing disgusting. How people can just blow off Trump’s gross behavior is beyond me. I don’t care if people call me a puritan, if you think it’s okay to cheat of your spouse and cheat with other people’s spouses, than you are truly lacking in any kind of morals.

I will not vote for someone like that.

We are no longer playing political poker - the survival of our Republic is at stake ...

I don't give a flying virgin's chastity if Donald Trump slept with every broad on the planet - he's the right MAN for the job ...

We cannot afford a simpering smarmy, whiny beta-boy in the Big Chair. Cruz is a wuss, in plain English. Oh, he's got a big mouth alright, every bit as bombastic as is Trump's ...

The difference is that Trump has a record of accomplishments longer than Cruz has been breathing air ... Cruz cannot hold a candle to Trump - and I think most Americans get that ...

We are not looking for a preacher; but rather we are looking for a General Patton - and Donald trump is as close as we are going to get. Trump wants to Make America Great Again ... Cruz wants to make America Puritanical again - no thanks, Ted.

Bingo.

If the fight for America were compared to the Third Crusade, it's clear that many of our FRiends stubbornly want to send in the Pope, while we know the battlefield actually requires Richard the Lionheart.

One belongs on horseback, the other back in the Royal Supreme Court

A preacher would be less likely to have the guts to close the border and care bout national security, so i want someone who DOES care.

***

Someone who is called to be a preacher shouldn’t even be running for political office anyways; they have a different calling and really should focus on preaching the Word.

Exactly right. Cruz is every bit as bombastic (and arrogant) as Trump, just with a different demeanor.

I do not understand the mindset that our GOP nominee must have perfect character, be a Christian, and that Cruz is the only acceptable option. If Cruz wins the nomination, Sanders or Hillary WILL be President. That’s the truth.

Trump has his faults, but he is NOT anti-Christian.

Sanders and Hillary ARE anti-Christian.

So if people vote for wonderful, unflawed, glorious Cruz and he wins the nomination... we’ll end up with another anti-Christian in the White House.

Go Trump!
