Agreed on that last. I had assumed they were trying to blast past the roadblock, but, the SUV has it’s brakes on as it approaches the roadblock and then as it goes into the snow.
IF LaVoy dropped his hands because he’d been shot, then this is murder.
That was just speculation on my part. Just how it appeared on close look. But I’d bet a cup of coffee he was shot at least 2x from 2 different shooters after he exited. As another pointed out, there also appeared to be windshield damage from possible rounds fired.
Based on the way the windshield looks and the way he exited the truck, like they’d just been fired upon, there is a good chance they started firing on the truck prior to the truck ever reaching the road block.
I think the reason they ran from the initial traffic stop was the reach civilization, small town of John Day, where they were headed for a meeting. This was all planned and they wanted this done in the woods.
