Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee will be attending Donald Trump's Thursday night event, which is attempting to rival the GOP debate down the street in Iowa's capital city.
According to a tweet, the 2016 candidate will participate in the undercard debate and then head off to Drake University, where Trump is holding his event after bolting from the debate as his disputes continue with Fox News and Megyn Kelly, who is set to co-moderate the event.
Huckabee's announcement is part of a last ditch effort for the 2008 Iowa caucus victor to boost his standing with caucus-goers before Monday. Trump had tweeted earlier Thursday that two GOP candidates had called him about possibly attending the event, which his campaign says will benefit wounded veterans. Huckabee's participation allows Trump to claim a past caucus winner's support for the event.

Sorry Atreides, Cruz was given on opportunity to say NO to the outrageous actions by FOX News and their open borders leadership. Ted is in full on panic mode and chose to take cheap shots instead. Huckabee may have a few skeletons in the closet, but he is certainly no “groveling grafter”. He is using the primary to highlight some of the issues and ideas that he believes in. There is nothing wrong with that; he is a good man. I do question your tactics saying nasty stuff about Trump in multiple threads. Offending followers of the candidate who currently has the most support by double digits and then attacking a good man is not the way to bring them to your favorite. You and some others here are hurting Ted Cruz’s chances of getting the nomination.
I got both right!!!
Amen!! Win for Trump with the evangelical vote and win for Huckabee cause he gets more attention with voters. And maybe a future??
Excellent! It will help them both.
I hope a future in Trump’s Administration! I like Huckabee!
Well, like Huckabee, Benny Hinn may be a “good man”...but he is still a GRIFTER (not GRAFTER) just as is Huckabee IMHO.
I have been a Huckabee critic in the past. Not today.
Santorum!
Wow. I missed it!
I have been wondering if Huckabee might be a guy DJT would select for VP

Maybe that fat goober Huckster will give Trump some more lines from the Bible to repeat now that he screwed up the one Perkins gave him.
U thought that at first too. But Huckabee has been good to Trump in the debates, and him being there refusing to bash Trump just might Baca good example for the others in the 2nd debate. They would look petty by comparison, especially if Huckabee phrases it in away stressing it would be low to attack someone not present.
I believe Trump’s event starts after the undercard debate and before the main debate.
U was supposed to be I.
Yep, this is basically an endorsement from Huck and Santorum, both very popular in Iowa - this is more yuge than people might think.
By your post, I’m guessing you will not be making a donation to the Vets
tonight.

Well, you guessed right — my personal “veterans charity” is the Special Operations Warrior Foundation to which I donate directly.
I would take that (Trump/Huckabee)!
Huckabee is an excellent communicator, and he is Christian! I love both! He would wipe the floor with whomever is the Democrat’s VP candidate.
I hope he is on Trump’s list!
Yes it seems to me, Huckabee and Santorum will both be going to Trump’s event.
This is very interesting.
Santorum is also big, on American manufacturing. And Huckabee has a (lot) of support around here.
Could be these two are big winners.
And CNN of course. :D
Carson should have went too.
