I say that because there's no reason to think that Trump won't turn on a dime the instant he has to face a general electorate, and begin advocating a whole new set of policies. He adopted an entirely new set of beliefs for this race, one attuned to what his current audience wants â not just xenophobic, but fervently pro-life, pro-gun, pro-God, and pro-whatever else he thinks primary voters want to hear. Trump panders shamelessly to whoever he's talking to, he has no genuine ideology, and he won't feel tied to anything he's said before, any more than he's tied to his previous positions on health care or abortion.
Unlike other politicians who struggle to explain any hint of contradiction between what they're advocating now and what they've advocated before, Trump waves it all away. Remember all the painful contortions Mitt Romney went through to convince Republicans he was in complete agreement with them and had renounced his prior hints of moderation? Trump doesn't bother with that. Who cares what I said then? This is what I'm saying now, and anyone who has a problem with it is a low-energy loser.

And the GOP cannot understand that.
“Trust me” has been their stock in trade for far too long.
Only God can save us. But I'm sure that Cruz would agree.
>> Are we being scammed?
That’s my biggest fear with Trump — that he isn’t today what he was yesterday.
Which might mean that tomorrow, he’ll forget and/or change his mind from what he says he’ll do today.
I will point out that Ted Cruz has been a solidly CONSISTENT conservative. That’s why my preference is for Ted Cruz.
Of course we are being scammed. Don’t think that a crude NY liberal who supported abortion including partial birth abortion, gun control, amnesty, universal healthcare, the Clintons and their foundation, deBlasio, Obama, numerous far-left politicians, takes money from Soros, loves eminent domain, and more liberalism won’t turn on the voters swooning over him now.
On immigration? On trade?
Trump will pass the GOPe agenda quite easily. He’ll just add a “P.S. I HEART America” to the bottom of every bill, which seems to be all it takes to make his supporters fall in line with him.
They are FOCUSED- FIXATED on a goal. These are just talking points like any other set of talking points. They don’t have to be true or relevant. Remember ‘’The law requires people to have car insurance.’’? (a talking point for 0bamacare) Same tactic. It doesn’t matter how thoroughly it is debunked, they stick to it & keep hammering it. ‘If you say something enough times, eventually people will believe it’. Maybe like Saul Alinksy?
It’s one of the tip-offs.
The question is What is that goal & what does it mean for America? Cruz is just a figurehead. As was Santorum. As, apparently, was Huck. Who or what has been behind all three? What do THEY want/ stand to gain?
Everyone knows that Trump is not a total conservative. So what! He will still be far, far better than either Clinton, Sanders or Bloomberg. The country is going to collapse, so it won’t matter much anyway.

The Trumps are very anti-waste and anti big government. The way they run their business proves that all by itself.

Betraying betrayers is setting things right.
And the best part is—when the GOP couldn’t tear down Trump, the GOP schemes to make “null and void” any primaries Trump wins.
No! Say it isn’t so! Ted Cruz said that? He must have been joking.
Absolutely, the GOPe has pushed for touchback amnesty before. With Trump, it becomes a reality and he doesn’t even have to flip-flop on his campaign promise since he’s said he’d do it outright. The GOPe would be thrilled to legalize millions of illegals with only a quick trip back home to touch the ground required.
I have no idea what Trump wants on trade. Has he promised anything specific? All I heard is “better deals.” He can get one line added to the next trade bill, call it better, and voila, campaign promise fulfilled. I personally couldn’t care less about trade deals. There’s one issue that has no effect on my life whatsoever.
Cruz voted FOR TPA at the same time as he was STILL pushing huge increases in H1B visas. He said research shows that immigrants create jobs.
Then he said he didnât know that program was being abused. (Although Disney was splashed all over the news.)
—
And he did not know McConnell lied to him about TPA
And he did not know Corker/Iran wasnât the best we could do.
And he did not know he was a Canadian citzen.
And he did not know he had to file official paperwork on a loan.
And he did not know he should have told Texans in his Senate race that he has a Canadian birth certificate.
And he did not know that Glen Beck is a loon.
And he did not know he didnât lose his health insurance
And he did not know he really didnât liquefy all his assets
And he is, according to his professor, Alan Dershowitz, off the charts brilliant.
Something doesnât quite add up, does it,

Trump has the largest support among blacks of any Republican candidate in history.
You and libbylu can kick and scream all you want, but we are done with your lying politician who is part and parcel of the system.
Archie Bunker types? Ok, I’ll play. I’m Cherokee, and not a fake one. To us, all of you are immigrants. You call us “American Indians” - note the first word there? AMERICAN.
Keep your effing Canuck, eh?
But not better than Cruz.
Because virtually every public officials who is fighting for conservative issues is a Republican. No, not all Republicans are conservative, but as far as electoral politics are concerned. virtually all conservatives are Republicans.
There are always people who would prefer to lose gloriously with ideological purity intact. There is already a party for these people: Libertarian. If you can't abide sharing a party with people who only agree with you 70 percent of the time, go be a Libertarian and glory in your one percent of the vote.
I am conservative and wish the party were more so. But I am not in favor of blood purges. If we want to advance a conservative agenda, we ultimately have to win elections.
No different than Romney
