Debate Preview from Ted Cruz
Pattericos Pontifications ^ | January 27, 2016

Ted Cruz:

"I think any candidate for President owes it to the voters to go and stand in front of them, to answer the hard questions. I mean, it's a matter of basic respect to the men and women of Iowa...This is a job interview. And if you want a job interview, the first thing you should do to get the job is show up at the interview. And I think it's really remarkable that Donald Trump thinks so little of the men and women of Iowa that he is willing to skip the debate altogether. He doesn't think he should have any questions on his record. And it's really quite astonishing that Donald is apparently so afraid of Megyn Kelly. Look, you know, journalists ask tough questions. You know, I promise you, anyone who's going to be President of the United States - if you're afraid of Megyn Kelly, then you're going to be afraid of Hillary Clinton. And if you're afraid of Vladimir Putin, if you're afraid to have anyone ask questions, that does not bode well for what kind of Commander in Chief you make."...

Cruz has spent most of his campaign hiding from the national media...and on the rare occasion he does engage with them he gets his clock cleaned, like in this stammering interview with Bret Bair.

On Fox News, Ted Cruz 2015 Clashes With Ted Cruz 2013 On Immigration

I'll wager Rubio pummels him again tonight on his flip flops.

why does the democrat media choose moderators for the dem debates and then choose for the republican debates too?

Why not let the DNC and RNC each choose one of their own moderators for the dem debates and the repub debates. Why not? Because that would be fair, that’s why.

The media works for the liberals because they allow them to do all the debates. Repubs are the stupid party.

Ted and more of his pompous bloviation. Trump anwers questions all the time. He has debated 6 times with Ted.

Only one candidate was being targeted tonight by FOX.

Easy to be a pompous when it wasn’t you as the target.

FOX could have run a clean debate. Their business channel was capable of doing that.

With Ted it is always “I”, not we.

You should probably read the news before opening your mouth or your typing fingers. Megyn Kelly was not the only or even main reason Trump is walking away from the 7th debate tonight.

Cruz and the rest of them have been whining for 6 months that Trump has gotten all the airtime,, now you have 2 hours plus all to yourself without Trump in the room to convince America you should be elected.. use the time wisely or shut the hell up

Jeb can't take that bet. He's already down $20. ;-)

He could read this off a teleprompter in about two minutes. Then they could end the debate.

Oh, you mean like PANDERING to Iowa corn farmers that you’re going to increase the boondoggle of ethanol subsidies. That’s what your DUmocrat does. Or using wounded veterans as props when you were against them and their commander-in-cheif when they had boots on the ground? Coming from a candidate who dodged the draft with “medical” deferments 5 times and equating his time in prep school to the service of those who did serve and makes the outrageous statement a “hero is someone who doesn’t get captured”? That’s the guy you want to prop up?

A vote for Ted is a vote for Bernie. 2LateTed cannot win.

Cruz, channeling O’Reilly. Although I do think this is the best argument, it still only holds water as persuasive to the primary voters. If Trump gets his positions out some other way, the voters are still informed.

A vote for Ted is a vote for the Constitution. A vote for Trump is to vote for the best friend of Hillary & BJ Clinton, Chuckie Schumer, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi. There are plenty of other candidates who are much better than the carnival barker you’re pushing.

With beta-boy Cruz in the hot seat, lets see if Bush goes after him or takes a swing at the absent Trump.

This is a job interview. And if you want a job interview, the first thing you should do to get the job is show up at the interview.

Reeks of desperation ... there have been enough debates ... there is nothing that will come out of tonight's debate that isn't already known about the candidates.

This debate was a setup from the get-go by Fox News to influence the voter impressions of the candidates against one person. Fox is now no better than all the rest of the networks.

Oh but there is. Not all LIV's know about Waterloo. Even Rush has tried to sweep it away. Here's the type of "professional" question to expect from Me-again.

Senator Rubio. Your colleague Mr. Cruz recently held a rally with Glen Beck in which he was sworn in to the office of the presidency. Do you think that was a little presumptuous?

Trump 2016.

That interview left a mark and not in a good way .... he looked like a dodging, weaving, flip-flopping, lying politician ... exactly what he says he’s not & exactly what America does NOT want for a president. I was surprised he handled it all so poorly.

You would think Ted Cruz would just be relieved that he was going to be center stage for once. But instead he can’t shut up about Trump. Lets see how well he does without Trump shielding him from the worst of the venom.
