In the wake of Donald Trumpâs refusal to be part of Thursday nightâs Republican presidential debate on the Fox News Channel, radio host Rush Limbaugh says the popular cable network is acting like a bride whose groom had just fled the church on their wedding day.
âFox News was acting as if they had been jilted at the altar,â Limbaugh said on his national broadcast Wednesday.
âDonald Trump knows that by not showing up, heâs owning the entire event. Some guy not even present will end up owning the entire event. And the proof of that is Fox News last night.â

Rush is definitely NOT on the pro-Trump bandwagon but he is always honest about the way he sees things.
I respect him for that, even while strongly disagreeing with him about Trump.
Good idea!
Fox News was acting as if they had been jilted at the altar, Limbaugh said on his national broadcast Wednesday.
No kidding! The guy is a founding member of FNC and they demote him in favor of that bleach blonde bimbo. If I was Hannity I would have left immediately...
Funny you should say that and ignore the religious fanatic cult that is for Cruz. Truly a scary thing.
That is exactly what happened. The Fox bride thinks so much of herself that she believes she owns the groom. In this case the Trump groom has it turned around where he owns the bride.
Knowing how much Rush likes Cruz, I was holding my breath today. But Rush knows he has said in the past this was exactly what a Republican candidate should do. He said it many, many times.
And no, he didn’t say they ALL needed to do this.
And, yes, Reagan did it.
Limbaugh has been through hell and back so he is not afraid.

If by that you mean that Rush’s 400 million dollar net worth protects him from most anything, I completely agree.
Rush could pack it up today and his children’s children’s children’s children would never have to work a day in their lives. Well, if he had kids that would be true.
I believe in Hannity’s case it is called the golden handcuffs. He is probably making so much money that he is shackled to his Fox master. He has turned into a wimp.
Who cares. I lost even more respect for Levin when I found out that he failed to disclose his conflict of interest; that his fiancé’s son works on Cruz’s Senate staff.
That’s fine, the son has every right to work there. And Levin has every right to endorse Cruz (if not technically endorse, certainly cheerlead for).
But it should have been disclosed. As a lawyer, he knows this. Yet he chose not to do so.
Hard to lecture on ethics when you violate your own. Oops.
Rush,Levin,Beck and Hannity created THE Donald. I liken it to the movie Young Frankenstein and Igor brings back the brain that read abnormal. And now they are collectively wetting themselves. Be very careful what you wish for.
I am also referring to his addiction to oxycodone and his hearing loss. That must have been so difficult.
I could write 1,000 words on this topic but I don’t think I could sway, defend or explain the various points of view where anyone would care so I’ll sum this up.
- When every candidate and the RNC buries NBC News everyone cheers.
- When a candidate who, frankly, doesn’t need to even show up to debates at this point bolts because he knows he’s the target of the moderators and every candidate on the stage what’s the point?
- These are not debates. You cannot have 8-11 candidates on a stage and call it a debate. It’s a showcase for bullet points, catch phrases and campaign slogans.
- This is not an affront to the voters of Iowa. The media could really care less about Iowa. When candidates are showing up in 99 counties that’s interaction with the people of Iowa. When they’re granting interviews to stations, newspapers that no one heard of that’s interaction with the people of Iowa.
- This is a backbreaking, in the heart, big FU changing of the game to the media. That’s why you cannot get consistent “reasons” or “explanations” from the talking heads
- If you’re on top of the mountain why do you need to show up to be in the center of a circular firing squad with no reason to?
- The whole argument; “He can’t do this with Putin, Iran, NK.” etc is BS. At very few times in history to heads of state do face to face negotiations. That’s what the state department, foreign ministires etc do. The heads of state show up to sign the papers for the camera, the work is done by hundreds of people no one knows or will ever know.
- Trump live rent free in every politicians, big donors, media members, pundits and bloggers head. They’re all screaming “HE CAN’T DO THIS! HE CAN’T DO THAT!” and guess what, he can, he does and he did.
Every “rule” is out the window with Trump and it’s wonderful to watch. How this reshapes campaigns in the next 20 years will be fascinating.
Politics have forever changed in this country and no one is saying that much yet.
Fox moderator:
“To any generic Presidential candidate on the podium, how do YOU think Donald Trump would answer the following question if he were here tonight?”
Should be great ratings!
I am not sure about the Trump voters not being needed by Rush, but he definitely does not need the money at all. Ratings are ratings so that is a totally different issue. As Trump has said many, many times,”It is a ratings game.”
Great analysis from Rush as usual. It’s really common sense. Why would Donald Trump care about an antagonistic organization like Fox News, especially since he already has six debates under his belt? He would be stupid to try and appease these bloodsuckers when he’s leading the pack and didn’t need their help getting there.
This is what it looks like when some guy stands up to rules in the game and says, Screw yours. I’m looking out for me first.
You can say whatever you want but I am not dumb. I’m not gonna give you the gun and the bullet and stand still. You wanna hit me? Come get me. But I’m not gonna put myself in your line of fire.
Of course he does. Not for living expenses. For keeping score. Not against radio commentators. Against anyone. Just like Trump.
