It doesn't compute to me that Trump would take this much effort, engender this much heat, unless he really did care and was intent on making changes.

See, this is the part where I lose you. There are many reasons for him to engender this much heat. He could want to change things. Or he could be trying to amplify his voice (as I've heard some Trump supporters actually posit). Or he could be setting up a position that gives him wiggle room (remember that his policy paper on immigration was not a direct reflection of his stump speeches). I don't think you can dismiss these other possibilities so easily.

You know, I try to believe people when they tell me what they want to do. When Iran says it wants to kill me, I believe them. When Trump tells me (in his book) how he negotiates, I believe him. And so far, his campaign is going by the book. And I know that Trump is going to benefit from this deal (he'll get to be President). But what am I going to get (for sure)?

I wonder your question too Charles. I answer it for myself with:

. Trump will get some thing from campaigning and being president, and rightly so since he is putting in the effort etc.

. we are already reaping some benefits of by his exposing things more fully then anyone else has.

. Trump would not trash his own name and all he has accumulated for himself and his kids.

. He loves the USA and wants it to thrive.

. He reads people quicker or more fully then most, so he knows when to step back to bargain table and when to step away. I think he likely does it every moment he’s awake, just second nature to him now.

Eva Peron controlled the news pretty well? You mean like Hillary Clinton? Hillary, who will be our President if Cruz wins the nomination?

I hope that everyone here is right. I just don’t see Trump as needing to govern as a conservative (in his mind). He’s just going to cut more deals. I think we’re all going to lament where those deals will land us...

You’re mistaken. When Trump put together his position on Illegal Aliens, he sat down and hammered it out with Jeff Sessions. When it comes to negotiators, Trump has said he already has Carl Icahn and several others lined up; and that several of them are so mean and tough, even HE doesn’t like them, but he’ll use them to benefit the Country. Trump calls on, and uses, the best available talent.....such as the woman he has running Trump Vineyards and Winery near Charlottesville, VA.

“Eva Peron controlled the news pretty well too. That is the worry.”

Really? All over the world, the governments control the press, now and throughout history, and you all of a suddenly worry about Eva Peron. A little to cautious and cool to mention Hitler, Stalin, Chairman Mao?

There are many reasons for him to engender this much heat.

If Trump is willing to cause this much controversy merely for the sake of attention, and/or simply as a cynical gambit to achieve the presidency, but without any real intention on delivering, then yeah, he would be as unsuited (and potentially dangerous) for the office as his detractors claim.

The problem I have with that characterization is it becomes an almost cartoonish parody of itself. Suitable for dramatic entertainment with stock evil characters, but not typical in real life.

Sure, perhaps a Clinton, who has always existed in that state, but Trump who has worked with thousands of people in the private sector? Where are the whispers of a perverted freak? I'm not hearing them. I mean, Obama isn't really evil - he's just a lazy stoner.

After confirming that Donald Trump would not be attending Thursday night’s GOP debate, rumors began circulating that the GOP frontrunner would appear on Bill O’Reilly‘s show.

&&&
What? The rumors confirmed the information and then began circulating? Is that possible?

This person does not believe in proofreading apparently.

No I don’t think it’s journalism but he will have to face it when/if he gets the nomination. Better to do it now than later.

Am I a sheep no? I’ve just read the headlines and came to that conclusion and I read what Trump has said. Also I listened to what Trump said back when he was a moderator.

Getting attacked by leftists is the norm for the GOPE nominee. Getting attacked by leftists imported by a “conservative” network isn’t the norm for a primary candidate.

Trump is putting the media on notice that the game is changing. When he is President, the media worms will have to play fair or become irrelevant.

Excellent.

True. That is a good point. He is exerting his influence which I do like. I just don’t understand why he is all over the map.

I saw that...and it makes me ashamed that Trump would terrorize that poor working girl Me_a_gyn Kelly. She just calls them how she sees em...even though she’s usually wrong, he didn’t have to scare her soooooooooooo much.

Did you see how badly he traumatized her...she ran right into the arms of that Michael Moore HUNK. Thankfully he was there to sooth her and wipe the blood...errrhhhhh I mean tears from her eyes.

As for as what ails Ailes, I don’t know how to help him. Right now he’s probably in conference calls with advertisers wanting a bit of money back...Don’t ya think

I heard Trump is gonna have his own event so his presence at the debate won’t terrorize further. See he is not totally heartless.

The illegal alien and the muslim who compared Trump to Hitler getting to ask questions? Trump may have more info on this than I do. I don’t know what changed but Trump has been talking about this for a while and he has now done it. It is unusual for a republican to actually do what they say, isn’t it?
