We are past the point of praying and hoping. We are almost past the time of standing and resisting, because what shortly follows that is the time of fleeing and hiding.

I said work and fight too...so let's not mischaracterize the discussion.
But, I will add...
WE ARE NEVER PAST THE POINT OF ALSO PRAYING AND HOPING.
In the end, we are dependent on, and must look to God in Heaven. Working and fighting without praying and hoping is also a wasted effort. It is He who governs.
So we must do all four...pray, hope, work, and fight. Our fundamental principles are based on His word, and the Constitution is a document I view as inspired by Him. we rest on them...we pray to Him for guidance and support and comfort...we hope for HIs help and success, and then we work and fight for it ourselves as guided by His Spirit.
That is the recipe for success...both here in this life and in the one to come.
My bad. I’m not just reacting to your comments, but many others that I have been reading about this issue among Christians who toss Romans 13 at us like a bludgeon and suggest our duties are limited to only praying and hoping.
You are also correct that we should never stop hoping and praying - because even when Ancient Israel was sent into brutal captivity for their national sins as a people - their prayers and hopes were that their children would see Jerusalem again.
I’m grieved that what we have been given as a gift liberty by The Almighty, will have been squandered on our watch.
I’m still at the mindset of attempting to prevent us from going into captivity, but that time is fast waning.
Our hope alone may well be that our posterity will see the Kingdom of God come down with Christ once this place of safety for the Church is come to ruin.
