They had the power to choose differently, they could have made many choices that had different consequences.

I agree. I personally thought this was not the hill to die on but the penalty for sitting out in a “public” wildlife refuge in the cold and snow should not be death. This whole thing is insane and the FBI as usual wants to step on any rebellion hard. They are terrified of us.
