You are dead right. I would add that a shocking percentage of Americans, including far too many FReepers, IMHO, prefer geniune "bad boys"--thinking that we surely need "bad boys" to fix our mess.
We are in far bigger trouble than a lot of FReepers have fathomed.

Some here in FR have expressed a desire for a (what they think would be temporary) autocracy. This is a new dynamic among those who consider themselves conservatives.
