I saw this and was surprise that the show would allow the Maggie Smith character to make such forceful arguments.
Also remember, the show is supposed to be 1925 now, so it’s really a, “See, I told you so†statement.
I wonder if Maggie Smith is a conservative. She must be, though.
I suspect the shows writers are the source of Maggie's conservatism. I notice how fairly this wealthy, aristocratic family is treated in this series. Only writers whose brains have not been ravaged by infantile, leftist thought patterns could pull this off.
