Biden, Warren to the Rescue? [In Case Hillary Buckles]
American Thinker ^ | 01/24/2016 | J. Robert Smith

Perhaps the shrewdest move Joe Biden made was taking a pass last autumn at a presidential run. Then, he might have been considered a spoiler. Not so Elizabeth Warren, whom the left wanted badly to run early last year. Warren, up against Hillary's money and establishment muscle, took a pass. No profile in courage for her.

But Warren might get a second chance at the brass ring. Biden, most definitely. Hillary the Inevitable is doing what Hillary does: melt down as inspection of her heats up. Criminality -- no stranger to the Clintons -- holds out the promise of being more of an upset than Bernie.

Had Warren not been intimidated into skipping the race, she'd be building momentum toward the Democratic nomination. With a credible alternative, Hillary would be closing in on yesterday's news status.

Instead, the Democrats have a huge dilemma. Their putative nominee is besieged. Democrat voters (enough of them, anyway, and never mind independents) don't much like or trust Hillary. She is what she's always been: bloodless and programmed. She oozes calculation and insincerity. She gives off the cloying odor of noblesse oblige. Hillary wants the presidency because it's a trophy and yet another means to boost the bottom-line of Clinton Family, Inc. The presidency represents a big revenue generator for Bill and Hillary.

Compounding Hillary's troubles, her wing-person (a nod to Lena Dunham's sensibilities) has gone from being a lovable scamp to a lecherous old man. Actually, Bill's more than a lecher. He's finally, openly been called out for what he really is: a woman abuser. He's, well, a white-faced Bill Cosby, per The Donald's withering inference.

The only thing that can save Hillary is the GOP snatching defeat from the jaws of victory...al la Trey Gowdy.

My money is on Hillary skating.

Hillary is running :15s here in Nevada all over the place.

Her pitch: equal pay for equal work, lowering taxes for middle class families, and making healthcare more affordable

aka socialism. The part about healthcare more affordable scares the hell out of me. It’s Medicaid For All Except The Elites aka single payer, right?

I think Hillary would be easier to beat.

But, Biden is an old fool, and a walking gaffe machine, and Warren is just as loony left as Sanders.

I could picture Trump running an ad showing Biden talking about how in 1929, President Roosevelt got on TV to reassure the American public after the stock market crash. That’s from the 2008 campaign. How about an ad featuring Warren claiming to be an Indian.

If Hillary quit by mid-Feb because of court-action....the July Convention would be thrown into chaos and he could walk in and likely claim votes after the first round.

I predicted last week that I wouldn't be too surprised to see Cuomo throw his hat into the ring. Warren seemed very determined when she declined to run; just an objective impression and I'm sure they can talk her out of it but she seemed pretty firm. Bloomberg is a late arrival and not a Democrat (although that didn't hold Bernie back at all). He could be self-funding if he wanted to be.

The bottom line, though, is that it's nearly February and Hillary isn't giving up yet. It may be too late for anyone who does not enjoy wide name recognition at this point (Warren, O'Malley) or who will need to set up a funding organization (everybody but Bloomberg). It's "defecate or vacate the porcelain throne" time.

Please, please...don’t let is be a Sanders/Warren ticket. Even Reagan wouldn’t be able to beat that combination! :)

What would stop Obama from stepping in at the last moment?

Nothing. Couldn't be any of the amendments to prevent him, he has a habit of ignoring anything written by dead white guys.

The media would love it though. The dems have that same feeling we had in the waning years of Ronald Reagan, if you all remember.

I remember that sinking feeling.

If their last hope of Hillary screws the pooch and the are stuck with the Bern, what would keep Obama from "doing the right thing" and bypass Warren, Biden and anyone else who steps up with their hat in hand.

It is quite possible.

Still, he ran circles around Paul Ryan.

Unfortunately, given the ages of Joseph Biden and Elizabeth Warren, I'm not sure if that's a good idea. That's why it's not far-fetched the Democrats may have to look for a much younger, dark horse candidate--for example California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom.

So much energy being expended on a scenario that isn’t going to happen. Hillary will win the DEM nomination, and she won’t be fitted for an orange prison suit.
